A TWIN NURSERY THAT’LL TAKE YOU TO CLOUD NINE
Hot air balloons are a symbol of freedom and they also spark our imagination and creativity. When my client contacted me, the first thing she mentioned was that she wanted a feature wall that incorporated hot air balloons. I created a wallpaper that featured a backdrop for the balloons, and had the balloons made in acrylic with custom colours which was placed over the backdrop which added a lovely dimension. My client wanted to incorporate all shades of blues – from mint to dusty blues to royal blue. Once everything was placed and finalised in the nursery, the end result was beautiful.
Her cots were custom made, with a mix of wood and clear acrylic, with a beautiful dresser to match. We love the fact that these cots were made smaller in size and included wheels, which makes it easy to manoeuvre around the home.
Being quite limited for space, my client opted for a simple daybed, instead of a rocking chair. This will provide a comfy and inviting place for mom and her family to gather on in future, as well as provide a comfortable space for her night nurse.
We added plain white egyptian cotton linen with touches of baby blue and beige ties, along with velvet royal blue scatter cushions with rose gold personalisation. Small details like white acrylic clouds with backlighting finished off the feature wall perfectly.
In the end, these twins were in NICU for over 100 days, and they were finally welcomed home with a beautiful little haven created just for them.
