A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME WITHOUT A FRENCHIE
This little boy’s nursery was designed for a client who was such a delight to work with. Her main request was to incorporate animals (especially her 2 little fur babies), otherwise I had been given free reign to design the nursery and propose some ideas to her. Aside from the dusty blues and grey’s, the main inspiration for this space was my client’s dogs, so I had touches of sweet little French bulldogs throughout the room.
I like to get a sense of who my client is, and what they want for their child because the room is ultimately meant to inspire the client and their family. I wanted her son’s nursery to reflect her love of animals, while still being modern and fit within the rest of her lovely home. I wanted a result that was not only beautiful, but also functional, comfortable, safe, and that always feels like home.
The space was a well-sized room, and so I added in a custom made daybed sofa, which is always a great way to add additional space for reading time and to relax while baby sleeps. We opted for our Quadro cot and dresser in white, and incorporated our bespoke bedding (with frenchies of course). The Mindy rocking chair was used in this space, along with a storage footrest.
I had our modern marble wallpaper installed which had many hues of blues and greys, so I used those colours throughout the room. I added one item in a metallic gold mirror, and that was Max’s name which stands out beautifully above his cot.
Other little decor items such as throws, mirror, the rug, scatters and soft plush animals were added to the space to finish it off and pull everything together.
What a happy place to bring baby home to!
